So I went to attend this event MPOC ( malaysian palm oil council) where Bhavna shah ( Country Representative India and Srilanka) gave us so much useful information about palm oil . We not only discovered some real truth about palm oil but also got to know about in how many ways the palm oil is being used which makes it a multipurpose oil .
Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp (reddish pulp) of the fruit of the oil palms.
It is full of nutrients including rich in carotene,such as alpha-carotene, beta carotene and lycopene including vitamins E, A, K etc.
Palm oil is popularly used in both solid fat products as well as in the liquid cooking oil sector especially in industrial frying applications. It offers several technical characteristics desirable in food applications, such as resistance to oxidation, which contributes towards longer shelf life of end products.
Bhavna shah also told us about how it is economically easily available.
Apart from this fun session of Palm oil talk I also enjoyed all the activities which we did at the event.
We also did a Food hunt activity in which we have to solve a riddle to reach different cafe's which included ( @finch , @safehouse , @crazytown etc) and after reaching we have to do a task and the fastest performing team wins . Also, in every task palm oil was used in various ways including the blind food tasting in which all the dishes( grilled Potatoes, cheese balls etc) were cooked in palm oil , salad making where palm oil was used in mixing the capsicum, lettuce and beans together and Ice cream relay in which nutella , fererro rocher, hide & seek biscuits had palm oil as one of their ingredients.
So, basically we learnt that how plam oil is so much beneficial for all of us and can be used in multiple ways.
At the last we did a dialouge delivery from various Bollywood movies and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest.
All the bloggers were dressed in one or other Bollywood character and they delivered the dialouges in the bollywood style.
It was a rainy day and we also loved running from one cafe to other in such a great weather. This session from the MPOC was indeed the best and the most useful for all of us.
